Connect and manage accounts

In the web app, choose Accounts → Connect account. Select a platform, sign in to that platform, approve access, and select the available page or channel if prompted. You can connect more than one account per platform, subject to your plan's account allowance.

The hosted service supplies its OAuth apps. You do not need to create a LinkedIn, Pinterest, Meta, TikTok, or Google developer app to connect to hosted SimplePost. The provider credential guides are for local integrations and self-hosted administrators.

Platform requirements

X

Connect the X identity you want to post from. Text length depends on the account's capabilities. Hosted posting is covered by your SimplePost allowance; there is no separate SimplePost X-credit top-up. Operators using their own X app manage their own provider costs. Formats and limits.

Instagram

Use an eligible professional Instagram account and grant the requested publishing access. If the connection flow asks you to select a linked Facebook Page, select the Page associated with that account. Every Instagram post needs an image or video. Formats and limits.

Facebook

Connect a Facebook Page you have permission to manage. Personal-profile publishing is not supported. Select the intended Page when offered. Formats and limits.

Threads

Authorize the Threads profile you want to publish from. SimplePost supports reply chains as well as individual posts. Formats and limits.

LinkedIn

The hosted connection posts to your LinkedIn profile. Organization posting with your own integration requires the appropriate provider identity and permissions; SDK support does not imply organization selection in the hosted UI. Developer details.

Bluesky

Authorize your Bluesky account. Video uploads require a verified email and available Bluesky video quota. Use one MP4 video, or up to four images; do not mix them. Video requirements.

TikTok

Authorize your TikTok creator account. Posting options depend on that account's allowed audience and interaction settings. Direct publishing and uploading to the TikTok inbox are different workflows. TikTok posting options.

YouTube

Authorize the Google account and select the intended YouTube channel. Upload a video and complete its title, privacy, and audience settings. Provider quota and channel restrictions still apply. YouTube details.

Pinterest

Authorize Pinterest and choose a board in the post's platform settings. A pin requires media and a board. Pinterest details.

Telegram

Create a bot with BotFather, add it as an administrator to your channel, then enter its bot token and the channel's chat ID or public handle in SimplePost. Keep the token private. Telegram setup.

Forem

Core also supports DEV/Forem articles. Availability depends on the deployment; the hosted ten-platform offering does not currently include Forem. When enabled by an operator, connect with your instance URL and a dedicated API key. Forem integration.

Reconnect an account

Choose Reconnect beside the affected account in Accounts, sign in as the same identity, and approve access. This is the first step when a provider reports an expired or revoked token. If a page or channel is missing, check your role and the permissions granted to SimplePost.

If the flow fails, return to Accounts and start again. Pending account selection can expire. Read the connection troubleshooting checklist.

Disconnect an account

Use Disconnect in Accounts. Review scheduled posts targeting that account first: a missing connection can prevent them from publishing. Disconnecting SimplePost does not delete posts already published on the social network.

Social connections are managed here, not through MCP. To disconnect an assistant, use its integration settings. MCP authorization.
